...Well it's my birthday too! 40 draws ever closer but champagne, good red wine and home made antipasti and pizza help to dull the pain.
The children stayed up too late for a school night; Toby and I watched the season finale of Deadwood and now I'm about to retire with the last of the wine, to browse through two of my lovely presents.
I put the knitting aside when the champagne cork popped - a wise decision I think.
Happy Birthday! (And good call...champagne and knitting rarely work well together.)

Happy Birthday Mary, sounds like you had a fun night, champagne plus knitting only means frogging the next day, not worth it!

Hurrah! Happy belated! :-)
It's true, champagne and knitting don't really mix. But I've never attempted to combine champagne and spinning... ;-)

Happy Birthday! Don't worry about the 40's - practically indistinguishable from the 30's so far :-)

I turned 40 on the third! So far.. well, I would rather be 27 again, but otherwise, life is good. And a very happy birthday to you too!

Happy Birthday, Mary!
I think life begins at 40 if you have your kids when you are 20! Imagine....
