I was taking out the compost yesterday afternoon when I heard a soft thud behind me. I turned around to see a little wood pigeon fledgling in the flowerbed. It had apparently fallen out of its nest in the tree above.
The children were naturally very concerned. Following the advice, we left it for a few hours, then moved it to a safer place for the night. Sadly, but not surprisingly, it didn't make it.
Josie was obviously feeling inspired after our visit to the pet cemetery at Dunster Castle.
So sweet and caring. You have wonderful children.

Too cool - how did she come up with the name? Hey Mary - I visited Dunster Castle too when working for Mrs Faulty at Minehead.

There really is a pet cemetary?? blimey, all of our old pets are at the bottom of the garden at home without any headstones. It'll be fun for the next owner when they dig the garden over!
