Sorry for the long pause. Things are hectic in the Wool Palace at the moment. Toby is doing some fairly hefty overtime - 7am start to 10pm finish anyone? Combine this with 2 children who are not impressed with their playscheme after a week in Somerset. Throw in a bit of me trying to get ready to go to the States tomorrow and go to work every day and you get the picture.
I finished a pair of socks
It's the first time I've used Lana Grossa sock yarn. I really liked it. The colours are nice and subtle and it feels very soft. So soft, I just had to wear them.
Then I started another pair
This is Lana Grossa too, 'Fun and Stripes', I believe it's called. I'm doing a 2 x 2 rib which I'll carry on into the foot.
I'm all packed and ready to go. It seems that the regulations on carrying knitting needles are being lifted, so I'm going to bring Gemma in my hand luggage. She's on Denise needles anyway, so I've taken the needles off and put stoppers on. That way, if I do get stopped, I can just post the needle part on. Wish me luck!
I'll try and post from DC, but probably without pictures. See you all next week!
Great socks! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with a sock jones!

I'm sure you will be OK with the Denise needles and can knit all the way across the Atlantic - have a great trip, and tell us all about it! Those were the socks you were doing at Libertys, weren't they? Lovely colour/yarn. Did you see that GetKnitted have Opal sock yarn in now that is 20% silk? I wonder how that would wear?

Love the socks. You must be so excited! Hope that you've saved a few pennies to splash out on yarn. All that time to knit...
dawn (who is sure that Jill is on commission with get knitted. Either that, or she wants someone to buy the opal silk to try it out!)
